Just having a little reminisce about old trainees, when I came across your website. I had a pair of blue adidas waterproof in the 80’s. Bought form the original Wade Smith shop off Bold Street in Liverpool. Just got back from one of the pre-season tours with Everton and went down with a few mates to sell him some trainees from Europe. Seen the waterproof and bought them straight away. Always keep an eye out for them in case they re-issue. Extremely comfortable, totally waterproof and they had a bellow tongue, plus they were blue for good measure. Started with Stan Smith, then onto Forest Hills, then Grand Slam. Can’t remember the price of the waterproof but must have been around the £50 mark.
